Day #7: How to Make More Money Off Your List with One-Dollar Offers

Believe it or not, most of your list members are squatters. Seriously. Theyre just taking up space. You can send them update after update but theyre not going to buy anything. In fact, many of them have not bought anything ever. 

The worst part is they dont bother to unsubscribe. They know that theyre not going to read your emails but instead of unsubscribing, they just ignore your updates. This can cost you quite a bit of money with your list management service provider who charges you a monthly fee.

You have to prune these people. But the problem is, when you prune based on how many times list members open your emails, you're still leaving money on the table.

Why?

There are a lot of people on your list who open your emails but dont buy anything. These are hard to prune because they actually open your emails but they dont buy anything.

Heres the solution. Offer one-dollar items. You may be thinking that this is a waste of time because youre only making one dollar but listen to me. When you do this, you split up your list into two baskets: info readers and buyers.

With info readers, you prune based on open rates. These people are still reading but they havent yet made up their mind. Those people are worth keeping. Everybody else you prune. So, you keep your info list nice, tight and trim.

Your buyers list, on the other hand, you should let it grow but hit it hard with high-quality content. If you send them enough content, you may be able to convert them.
